Energy Efficiency Audit
What is an Energy Efficiency Audit?
We are all trying to find new and better ways to cut down on our utility bills. After you have gone through your house and done those things that are obvious such as replacing old weather stripping, putting a blanket on your hot water heater and turning down the thermostat, you should have an energy efficiency audit done by a professional auditor.
It is his job to look at your entire home including the structure and all of your appliances including the furnace and the hot water heater. He will draw up a report that will tell you what further steps you can take to reduce your home’s energy consumption. In many cases, you will find that appliances over ten years old are far less efficient than new ones and the amount of money you can save on your utility bill will offset their purchase price.
