Spray Foam Insulation, Weatherization and Energy Auditing Services

Polyurethane foams:
Open cell foams: 0.5lb, 1.2lb, 1.6lb density foams – all for interior uses only. Recommended by manufacturers
Closed cell foams: 1.8lb, 2.2lb, 2.8lb-3.2lb density foams- all for interior or exterior uses. It is recommended that only a certified foam specialist or building science professional can explain proper installation in order to insure manufacturers’ warranty.
Cellulose: green fiber cellulose (tested in accordance with ASTM C739 measures 3.7 R-value per inch at 4” thickness. This Cellulose provides more consistent r-value even under extreme conditions.
Drill and Fill: A process designed to assist existing homeowners that have insulation deficiencies. We are able to either pour foam into the walls or dense-pack cellulose insulation into the walls. It is a proven technique recommended by the Department Of Energy and the Clean –Air act legislation passed in June of 2009.
Insulation Removal: All vacuuming of insulation is quoted per job per square footage and hauling requirements.  Under house removal is priced according to the ease of removal per square foot basis.

Energy Auditing:
Blower Door Testing:  A process used by professional energy auditors to determine the net free ventilation of a house. (Air Leak Ratio)
HVAC Duct Testing: Industry term for this is called a “pressure pan test or duct blasting” that will determine the leakage of air from you’re a/c ductwork.
CAZ Testing: Industry standard testing for proper function of all gas appliances; water heater, stove, furnace for heat. Carbon Monoxide is the #1 cause of poor indoor air quality and can lead to serious health problems if not corrected. Everyone should have this test performed!
Mildew/Moisture Testing: Testing of molds and mildew found in houses from improper ventilation and or water leaks in home.
Infrared Testing: A professional service provided to homeowners to determine: heat transfers, air leaks, water breaks, structural concerns, poor installation of spray foam. Infrared imaging can easily determine the proper installation of spray foam, cellulose and wall insulations if in question.

Weatherization Services: (Highly recommended by the Department of Energy)

Air-Sealing: Windows, Doors, Roof systems, A/C ductwork, insulation wall and floors
A/C Ductwork Sealing: Process of sealing all air leaks in the duct systems to within 3-7%. The average home’s A/C leaks 40% and generally into the attic; then straight out into the atmosphere. Highly recommend sealing off the attic with Star Spray Foam Insulation.
